Parent Workshop: Life Skills (Module 1)

Parent Workshop: Life Skills (Module 1)
The life skills module begins with a look at a number of areas of typical development. The building blocks needed for the fine motor skills required for functional independence in daily activities are outlined.  This helps us to identify and teach the basic self-help skills a child is developmentally ready to learn in a step by step approach.  An introduction to activity analysis follows as we complete and analyse everyday activities and consider how we can use them therapeutically with children and young people to meet their home and school developmental goals.  Finally a number of strategies are discussed and demonstrated that can be used to teach life skills.
