Sow and Grow – Seed Swap and Spring Fair

It’s less than two weeks to go, until the annual Seed Swap and Spring Fair.

Revision Club – English

Revision Club KS4 – Wednesdays

From the week beginning 4th February we will be holding a revision club after school for those students doing exams in English. This will run from 3.00pm to 4.00pm every Wednesday, starting on Wednesday 6th February and finishing on Wednesday 29th May. This will enable the students to have time to practise some of the key skills they will need in their forthcoming exams.

Adur Special Needs Project

Adur Special Needs Project are currently looking for new trustees to join their team.

The commitment for the Trustee role is the attendance at Management Meetings once a month and the occasional attendance at the Play Scheme itself.

Adur Centre – Half Term Activity Options

Half term VENTURE ACTIVITY DAY CAMPS at the ADUR Centre, Shoreham.

These will be offering action packed days doing indoor climbing, SUP paddling, bouldering, mountain biking, archery, kayaking and more!

The adventure camps are open to children aged 8-13.

Announcement by The Trustees of Worthing Mencap

Buddys Café will close with effect from 31st January 2019, until further notice, due to funding limitations. This is a temporary measure while restructuring Buddys Café and the services it provides.

 All other services provided by Buddys Worthing Mencap to support people with a learning disability will continue unaffected during the Café closure.

 Worthing Mencap remains fully committed to providing excellent services for the people we support, continuing 60 years of success serving the local community, and is now planning for an exciting future.

 We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your continued support.

Research – Autistic Women and Girls

The Tizard Centre, University of Kent are designing a screening tool for autism.  This research and the screening tool focuses on earlier identification of autism in women and girls.

Researchers at the Tizard Centre have developed a screening tool called the FASST (Female Autistic Spectrum Screening Tool) and would like autistic people, carers and professionals to help them identify whether the screening tool is asking the right questions to help identify if a woman or girl might be autistic.  The hope is that the use of this tool could could support earlier identification of autism.
