Canine Concern is a charity that works to provide Therapy Dogs to elderly, lonely and individuals with health concerns or issues where a visiting therapy dog would be helpful in supporting them. Canine Concern also carry out visits to schools and special needs groups and have found that these visits help in breaking down barriers, providing a sensory aspect and enjoyment for all.
Recently Oak Grove College has been enjoying visits from our own special canine friend Dottie along with her human companion Lucie Johnson.
Dottie’s regular visits to the school are a great success. Dottie has been visiting Albert’s class in KOA and the students (and staff) enjoy Dottie’s company. The interaction provides stimulus, smiles and enjoyment for all involved, Dottie also loves the attention and extra treats!
