Catch-Up Funding

Catch up Funding Statement 2013/14

The Department for Education (DfE) provided additional funding for all students in Year 7 from 2012 onwards, who achieved below their age related expectations at the end of KS2. This additional funding is to be used by schools to provide literacy and numeracy catch-up support for Year 7 students. It is designed to help students catch up as quickly as possible.

Oak Grove Context

Catch up funding monies received: 2013/14 academic year

Overview of the school
Total number of year 7 pupils on roll 28
Amount of funding received per year 7 child £500
Total amount of funding received £14000

Our Aims: 2013-14.

To raise attainment in Literacy and Numeracy for those students who were in receipt of Free School Meals, but who had made limited progress in the first assessment period from September 2013 to January 2014

Deployment of Funding

Specifically this has involved targeting individual literacy and numeracy needs through a needs analysis of those students who were not making as much progress as their peers. An additional member of staff was employed for the duration of the summer term to deliver these programmes. The programmes were created in conjunction with the Lead Teachers for English and Maths at the college. This supported the pupil premium and college funded priorities through the development of sensory technology, literacy and numeracy resources and training.
