When a young person has an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) there is a legal requirement to review the plan annually. Parents/carers are invited to attend Annual Review meetings to discuss progress towards outcomes and to ensure your young person is receiving the correct provision to meet their needs. Where evidence is provided that there needs to be significant changes to the student’s outcomes, needs or provision e.g. in the form of a professional report, EHCP’s may need to be amended, but they are not changed after every review.
A member of the West Sussex Special Education Need Assessment Team (SENAT) will attend the Annual Review for all Year 11 and Year 14 students to update the EHCP ready for transition to Further Education.
Annual Reviews begin mid-October and continue through to the end of March. An invitation and support paperwork is sent out to parents/carers 2 weeks prior to the meeting. The reviews are held online. The College works hard to ensure the reviews are held with appropriate staff and at appropriate times in the year. If you are not able to attend an Annual Review we will reschedule if possible on the designated days, however it may not be possible in all cases.
